- User Interface: Application layer end user applications ke liye user interface ko provide karta hai. Is layer mein graphical user interfaces (GUIs), command-line interfaces (CLIs), aur APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) jaise interaction methods ka istemal hota hai.
- Application Protocols: Application layer application protocols ka istemal karta hai. Ismein HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) web communication ke liye, FTP (File Transfer Protocol) file transfer ke liye, SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) email communication ke liye, DNS (Domain Name System) domain name resolution ke liye, aur DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) IP address configuration ke liye jaise protocols shamil hote hain.
- Data Exchange: Application layer data exchange ko handle karta hai. Is layer mein application-specific data structures, jaise web pages, email messages, aur file formats, ke interpretation aur transmission ke liye standardization aur data formatting hoti hai.
- Message Handling: Application layer message handling ko manage karta hai. Ismein message creation, encoding, decoding, aur delivery ke liye protocols aur services hote hain. Email protocols, jaise SMTP, POP (Post Office Protocol), aur IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol), email messages ko handle karte hain.
- Application Services: Application layer services provide karta hai, jaise directory services, authentication services, aur name resolution services. - Network Virtualization: Application layer network virtualization ko handle karta hai. Ismein virtual private networks (VPNs) aur tunneling protocols ka istemal hota hai, jisse secure aur isolated network connections create kiye ja sakte hain.
