Data Link layer OSI reference model ka dusra layer hai, jo Physical layer ke upar hota hai. Is layer ka mukhya uddeshya reliable data transfer ko facilitate karna hota hai. Data Link layer data ko packets ya frames mein divide karke, physical network medium par error-free transmission ko ensure karta hai.

Yahan kuch important points hain jo Data Link layer ke baare mein batate hain:

1. Framing: Data Link layer data ko packets ya frames mein divide karta hai. Is process mein data stream ko fixed-size frames mein segment kiya jata hai. Har frame ko header (shirshak) aur trailer (aant) se surround kiya jata hai, jo frame ki starting aur ending ko indicate karte hain.
   
   
2. Physical Addressing: Data Link layer MAC (Media Access Control) address ka istemal karta hai. MAC address har network device ko unique identifier deta hai. Is layer mein har device ko source aur destination MAC addresses ke saath frame ke header mein include kiya jata hai.
   
   
3. Error Detection and Correction: Data Link layer mein error detection aur correction techniques ka istemal hota hai. Parity checks, cyclic redundancy checks (CRC), aur checksums jaise mechanisms se frames ki integrity verify ki jati hai. Agar error detect hota hai, to frame ko discard kiya jata hai ya fir error correction techniques ka istemal kiya jata hai.
   
   
4. Flow Control: Data Link layer flow control ka dhyan rakhta hai. Agar sender frame transmission ki speed ko receiver se jyada tezi se kar raha hai, to flow control mechanisms, jaise sliding window protocol, ka istemal karke data flow ko regulate karta hai.
   
   
5. Access Control: Data Link layer network access control ko handle karta hai. Multiple devices ke beech access conflicts aur collisions ko manage karne ke liye, protocols jaise CSMA/CD (Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Detection) Ethernet mein istemal hote hain.
   
   
6. Media Access Control (MAC): Data Link layer MAC sub-layer ko bhi include karta hai. MAC sub-layer devices ke beech data transmission ko synchronize karta hai aur multiple devices ke liye media access ki niyamitata (arbitration) ko handle karta hai.
