1) Persistent CSMA: Persistent CSMA mein, jab ek device data transmit karna chahti hai aur sense karti hai ki medium busy hai, toh woh medium khali hone tak sunna (listen) jari rakhti hai. Jab medium khali ho jata hai, device turant apna data transmit karti hai.

    Persistent CSMA kaam karte samay “listen and transmit” approach follow karta hai. Device continuously medium ko sense karti hai aur jab tak medium busy hai, sunna jari rakhti hai. Jab medium khali ho jata hai, device apna data transmit karne ke liye wait nahi karti, balki turant transmit karti hai.

    Persistent CSMA ka advantage yeh hai ki jab medium khali ho jata hai, data transmission bina kisi delay ke shuru ho jati hai. Lekin iska disadvantage yeh hai ki agar multiple devices ek saath medium ko sense kar rahe hain aur medium khali hoti hai, toh unmein se koi bhi device transmit kar sakti hai.     2) Non-Persistent CSMA: Non-Persistent CSMA mein, jab ek device data transmit karna chahti hai aur sense karti hai ki medium busy hai, toh woh ek chhota random wait time select karti hai aur uske baad medium ko fir se sense karti hai. Agar medium abhi bhi busy hai, toh device wait karke retry karta hai. Jab medium finally khali ho jati hai, device apna data transmit karta hai.

    Non-Persistent CSMA kaam karte samay “sense, wait, and transmit” approach follow karta hai. Device medium ko sense karti hai aur agar busy hai, toh wait time select karke wait karti hai. Wait time random hota hai, jisse collisions ki probability kam ho jati hai. Jab wait time khatam ho jata hai aur medium khali ho jati hai, device data transmission shuru karti hai.

    Non-Persistent CSMA ka advantage yeh hai ki wait time ke istemal se collisions kam ho jate hain. Devices randomly wait karte hain, isliye unka transmit time phail jata hai, jisse collisions avoid ho sakte hain. Lekin iska disadvantage yeh hai ki wait time ka istemal karne se transmission delay ho sakta hai, especially jab medium busy hoti hai.
